:w00t!:

Candace (I think that's how you spell her name), down at the library has agreed to teach me everything i need to know about the ubercoolness that is photoshop.

So, maybe I'll finally get all you monkeys off my back, and submit a deviation. :shakefist:

thanks to for inspiring me enough to the point that i got off my fat arse and did something about my lack of talent. :D

The avatarry goodness

Heck, if I'd know photoshop was *that* much fun to work with, I'd made an avatar ages ago. :D

Not completely happy with this one, but it's a great start. Thanks to sxc.hu for that great stock image. Kinda inspired by some of the work by the ever-amazing water-fairy

Heck, it might not seem like much to you guys and girls, but I have to thank silveryn, and nebu! for getting me kickstarted on it.

Food for thought, certainly

Stumbled up on "The Act of Bullying" recently, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. A superficial glance makes the column seem like a rather mundane effort to draw attention to the act of bullying. Something we're all well familiar with, methinks.

However, a less perfunctory reading of the aforementioned piece, particularly an account of the author's own experiences of being bullied lends some tangibility to the severity of the issue at hand. It seems almost incredible that a child should be subject to such abuse.

The author's credibility aside (I was born a skeptic), the increasing incidence of violence in schools worldwide deserves a second thought, at the very least. Violence only begets violence, which begets further violence, and so on. The children of today are the ones we, or at least, I entrust the task of realizing my hopes and dreams for tomorrow.

But all will be lost if we rob them of their desire to live.
